Do you have great organization and multi-tasking skills, as well as a passion for serving the neediest families in our community?  We have a paid seasonal opportunity at The Salvation Army Center of Hope as our Brand Ambassador & Receptionist at The Salvation Army Center of Hope -  1311 S Eugene Street Greensboro NC.

  • Dec. 26, 27, 28. 29

Overview:

Ambassador answers the telephone in a courteous manner and directs calls to the appropriate destination; records accurate and complete messages when necessary; receives and receipts deliveries and donations; greets and announces visitors and clients; provides general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services; performs routine clerical work such as typing and filing.

EVERYDAY:

Answers the telephone and transfers calls to the appropriate destination; responds to callers questions and provides accurate information.

Records accurate and complete messages; ensures the timely and accurate distribution of messages through telephone.

Receives, greets, and announces visitors in a courteous and tactful manner.

Notifies proper individuals when visitors or clients have arrived

Screens visitors and personnel before allowing entrance beyond reception area.

Receives incoming food donations and gives receipts.

Receives and prepares receipts for donations, packages, express mail, and items delivered to the lobby; notifies proper individuals of item arrival by telephone and delivers to the appropriate office.

Family Store Donations:
Schedule and record pick-ups; process changes and cancellations

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Processes clothing referrals as directed.

Set telephone system at Night Mode at the end of the day

Maintains the neatness of the reception area.

Applications: Distribute volunteer and employment applications as needed

Assist with distributing current social services information to clients

Performs other related work as required.

Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner.

Ability to project a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to operate a multi-line phone system

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in the lobby area where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
